Overview

PokerReads ("we", "our", "the app") is a private poker note-taking, opponent-read, session, bankroll, journal, and study tool. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (for authentication)
• Username (optional, chosen by you)

Hand History Data

• Player names you enter
• Hand history text you record
• Dates and timestamps of entries
• Session results, bankroll records, journal entries, table draws, staking records, and other poker content you choose to save

Media You Choose to Provide

• Photos or screenshots you import to parse hand histories
• Player avatar photos you choose to upload
• Voice recordings you create for hand transcription

Subscription Information

• Payment status (active/inactive)
• Subscription dates
• Champion priority read credit balance and grant/redemption history (if subscribed to the Champion tier)
• We do NOT store credit card numbers or full payment credentials. Payments are handled by Apple, Google Play, or Stripe, depending on where you subscribe.

Notification Preferences

• Device push notification token (an Expo push token issued by your device's operating system) used solely to deliver in-app event notifications
• Notification permission status
• You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or in PokerReads' in-app settings; doing so removes the token from your account

Read Quality Feedback

• Thumbs up/down ratings you choose to provide on synthesized opponent reads
• Optional free-text feedback you provide explaining what was or wasn't useful
• Reason category tags (e.g., "wrong game", "too generic") you select on a read
• Feedback references the rated analysis by its internal identifier, not by placing the opponent name or hand-history text in the feedback row

Automatically Collected

• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• App update checks may query Apple's public App Store lookup service using PokerReads' bundle identifier only; no account information, hand histories, or private notes are sent for update checks
• Crash diagnostics and performance telemetry used to keep the app stable
• Anonymous and account-linked product funnel events, such as demo views, onboarding steps, and feature completion events, used to understand where users need a clearer first-run experience

We only request access to your photo library or microphone when you actively use those features.

How We Use Your Information

• Authentication: Your email is used to create and secure your account
• Core Functionality: The poker content you save is stored to provide notes, reads, sessions, bankroll, journal, staking, sharing, and review features
• Media Processing: Imported screenshots, uploaded avatar photos, and voice recordings are processed only to support the features you request
• Read and Coach Analysis: Relevant hand histories, notes, journal entries, or session records are sent to Anthropic when you request an opponent read, reflection, or coaching response. Anthropic processes that content under our configured API data terms.
• Groups: If you join a collaborative group, your hand histories shared to that group are visible to other group members
• Payments: To verify your subscription status and provide access to paid features
• Diagnostics: Crash and performance diagnostics are collected to identify bugs, improve reliability, and troubleshoot issues
• Notifications: Device push tokens are used solely to deliver in-app event notifications (for example, "your read on a player is ready") to your device. Tokens are deleted from your account when you disable notifications or delete your account.
• Quality Improvement: Read feedback you provide is used internally to evaluate and improve output quality. Feedback records reference the analysis; separate evaluation workflows may use access-controlled source material when needed to investigate a specific response.
• Product Improvement: Funnel telemetry helps us measure whether new users reach their first useful read; event metadata uses counts, IDs, and enums rather than hand text or personal notes

Third-Party Services

• Supabase (database and authentication): Your account data and hand histories are stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure
• Anthropic (analysis): Relevant content is sent when you request opponent reads, journal reflection, bankroll coaching, receipt parsing, or image-assisted poker imports
• Apple App Store (iOS payments): Subscription payments are processed by Apple
• Google Play (Android payments): Subscription payments made in the Android app are processed by Google
• Stripe (web payments): Subscription payments made on the web may be processed by Stripe
• Sentry (diagnostics): Crash reports and performance telemetry are used to monitor stability and fix reliability issues. PokerReads redacts private poker content, account identifiers, and authentication tokens from diagnostic events where possible before they are sent
• Expo Push (notification delivery): Device push tokens are relayed via Expo's push notification service for delivery to Apple's APNs and Google's FCM. No content beyond the notification text itself is shared

Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored on Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure
• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data and data from groups you belong to
• We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data with service providers only as described in this policy or when you deliberately use a sharing feature.
• We do not store your credit card number or full payment credentials on our servers

Data Retention

• Your data is retained as long as your account is active
• You can delete individual hand histories at any time from within the app
• You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

Children's Privacy

PokerReads is for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
